Mouthwash Research
2023

The brief for Mouthwash Research Center was an invitation to treat automotive and product forms as pure visual research, no campaign agenda, no client hierarchy. The approach across these images was consistent: strip the subject of its context and interrogate it as sculptural matter. The BMW frames use extreme symmetry and radical cropping to collapse the car into graphic abstraction, while the introduction of flat electric blue as a background plane breaks any remaining connection to conventional automotive photography. The door shell, chrome-lit against black, floating in isolation, reframes an industrial stamping as an objet d'art, its structural cutouts reading more like negative space in a sculpture than engineering tolerances. The distorted red object and the mechanical close-up push further still, into territory where material, motion blur, and light become the subject entirely. The throughline is a rigorous material curiosity: what happens to an object when you remove its function and only leave its form.
