PROJECT STILLS
Technical textile and lights. When you look at this film, there aren’t many elements. It is all minimalism; those elements present on screen has to be beautifully lit, shaded and presented. To give a lot of depth and glow to a small product, we used a selection of tiny area lights at key areas to bring them to life. A lighting setup impossible to create in real-life; it is a choice we assumed.
For the cloth, we used Houdini Vellum system to create a very high dentisty mesh for maximum fidelity when we pushed the product into it. Houdini allowed us to really tweak the stretch, seams, and other elements of our cloth to reach a result we and the client would be proud of.
WATER SIM
The water sim. Created with our Technical Director, we setup a procedural system in Houdini that allowed us to replicate it with any given parameter. We took an artistic approach instead of an accurate one with the size of the droplets. We wanted a lot on screen, but if we followed real life, we’d have one big droplet. It was a fun film to make and direct the whole team, everybody was on 100% to deliver what I think is a beautiful film.
