HELMET DESIGN
Inspired by 90s japanese animes such as Cowboy Bebop, motocycle culture, Aerospace, Victor Clavelly & I were tasked to design an helmet that could live in a sci-fi universe. A mix between 2001 Space Odyssey & Akira.
MOTO DESIGN
In charge of the conception with Victor Clavelly, we were tasked to create a motorbike from scratch which could live in a sci-fi universe but has roots and elements of today’s design codes. One of the references given by Yoon and the Nike Tokyo team was “Akira”. The major challenge (besides time constraints), was to create a motorbike which stands-out, ressemble Kaneda’s bike but also has its own personality. Designing this bike in Paris, we took one reference from literally down the street; the Yamaha’s T-max. A staple of mobility in Paris, a lot of cool kids ride the T-max. We took existing lines and redrew them following the flow of Kaneda’s bike.
Massive in size, the front of a scooter, the back of a speedbike.
bEHIND THE SCENES
As you can imagine, the process of creating a helmet and a motobike from scratch requires quite a bit of work so we tried to document the development process from sketching, to post-process.
