Oakley Kato Advertising Campaign 2021
For the launch of the Oakley Kato Campaign, our first mission was the creation of a set of Key Visuals. A large amount of time was spent on the light setups for each shot. We had 2 light systems. One with an angular diffuse in front of the lightsource which allowed us to create smooth gradients and another without any diffuse to draw hard edges when needed. Since the shaders are true irrisdescent with the proper falloff, we had to “cheat” in some cases to inject the colors we wanted in post. All of it rendered in 12k.
Following the art direction set for the KVs, we had to create 4 animations. This one was a focus on the red glasses. One of the challenge was trying to match the look of the glasses in animation with the one from the key visuals; since we couldn’t do the same level of post production as the KVs, we had to tweak the lights and the shaders to inject more colors and variations.

For this short film, we wanted to tease the shapes with some rimlights, and close-ups.
