Doomnova
Self-expression
2020

The Doomnova is a fantasy build, a Nova body pushed into something that sits between drag car, prerunner, and fever dream, so the visual language had to match that register without tipping into parody. The lighting approach was deliberately cinematic and low-key, keeping the matte black bodywork absorbed into the background while using tight rim sources to trace the musculature of the fenders and roofline. The rear three-quarter and straight-on rear frames were the most considered: the exposed suspension, the lightened bumper, and the roll cage X visible through the rear glass all needed to read as purposeful engineering rather than prop dressing, which required careful light placement to give depth to the undercarriage without flooding it. The overhead shot earns its place by revealing the blower stack cutting through the hood, the one moment of warm metallic colour in an otherwise near-monochromatic set, and the detail that confirms this is a working machine rather than a show car. The name stencilled across the rear spoiler was the final piece of world-building, treated with enough subtlety that it rewards attention rather than announces itself.
